PWWSD condemns the atrocious
slaughter of a woman by her husband in one of the lively streets in Bethlehem. The
crime is the third in a week, during which two women were killed in Tulkarem
and Gaza.
PWWSD demands all duty bearers to
adopt a modern and progressive penalty law as soon as possible. The new law
must bring murderers to justice, and apply a system of deterring measures that
grant women their rights, and their right to live.
PWWSD also demands an end to the
violations of the rights of Palestinian women. Women’s laws are protected by
the Palestinian Basic Law, and PDI as well as CEDAW.
